Le’Andra Fury sat in the living room of their penthouse apartment relaxing as she glanced through the notes from the last clan meeting on her tablet. The only note that really pertained to Le’ was about next year’s War Games and if there was going to be an anniversary feast. Le’Andra cringed at the thought; don’t get her wrong, she was always down for a good feast, but to have her wedding anniversary rolled into Clan business, no thank you. She let her mother have all the fun she wanted with the wedding, making it damned near a national event; but the anniversary, that was theirs and theirs alone, she was not going to celebrate her anniversary in 30 degree weather every year. As a matter of fact, one of the first things Le’Andra is going to do when she becomes clan leader, is move the Clan Wars back to the fall. Maybe she would start that petition now.
Le’Andra looked out onto the veranda balcony where her husband, Xavier Wolf, and her assistant, Chan, were talking with one another. They had been doing that a lot lately after International Incident. They saw her looking at them and did what they always did, smile with a nod. If that action alone didn’t prove that they were up to something, nothing would.
You know this is driving her crazy. Chan said as they watched her stare at them.
I know, it’s great. Xavier smirked. She’s expecting something, but not this.
Xavier and Chan made their way back into the apartment, Le’ still eyeing them; seriously, she knew when they were up to something individually, so she knew when they were up to something together.
You’re up to something.
He is.
We are.
Should I worry?
No more than normal. Xavier smiled at her and held his hand out to help her to her feet. Go get dressed. Wear something pretty...
The black dress. Chan exclaimed from beside them.
Exactly. He pointed at Chan and nodded. The black dress.
Le’Andra couldn’t help but smile; him and the black dress. Xavier told her once that she was the only woman who was able to make a good first impression, twice. First was the morning her father introduced Xavier to his students and she stalked around the ring behind the rest of the trainees, he swore even her braids were angry. He had watched her flatten all the other trainees and had been impressed with the controlled anger she carried and even more impressed when she was “uncontrolled”. And the second, months later when he saw her in a black dress with a slit up the thigh and for the first time with her hair down. She hadn’t worn any makeup and was still the most beautiful woman in the place; he had been just a little bit jealous of the guy she went home with that night. It was that night that led to Xavier making sure that half of her floor length dresses have slits up one thigh.
Shouldn’t take me long to do my hair and make up. She started for their bedroom.
No need for war paint, love. He called after her. You hardly need it.
You’ve already won the girl, xavi’. She called out with a hint of laughter in her voice.
Doesn’t mean I am gonna stop trying. He replied back with a smile. Don’t forget the leather jacket, too.
You two make me sick. He made a gagging motion.
But we love you, Tink. Xavier put his arm around Chan’s shoulders. X didn't like him at first, but Chan grew on him after a while, plus X had a feeling Le’ and he would have gone through 12 PAs by now because they couldn’t handle “Them”. Besides, he’s really excellent to have when you needed something obscure. And don’t know what we’d do without you.
Just remember me in your wills.
With as much as we pay you, you’ll be retired with your own PA by then. He patted Chan on the back and then shoved him away in a playful manner.
At least my PA won’t have to worry about replacing walls. He straightened his suit and rolled his eyes. Let me go find out when the car will be here.
All I have to say, I hope you find the one you love enough to want to put through a wall.
Savages.
As Chan went off to find out about the car, Xavier went to find out what was holding up his wife.
May 26, 2021; 4:38p - Trellis Bay Docks, British Virgin Islands
When they had arrived at the airport in New York to see one of the smaller Wolf jets parked on the tarmac, Le’Andra knew what was up, but just what it was, she really didn’t know; she did know they were finally going to have that honeymoon. She would have a talk with Chan about conspiring against her with her own husband, but she figured that it would go in one ear and out the other; as a matter of fact, she was positive. Half the flight over, Le’ questioned him what they were doing and where they were going; but he wouldn’t even give her a hint; he even swore the crew to secrecy.
They were met by a limo on the tarmac and from there they were driven five blocks away, to the dock that Xavier had rented out for the occasion, he decided to go all out this time; for everything that he’s put her through and everything that he has yet to put her through. As the limo pulled up as close to the dock as it could, it was evident to Le’ what the 125 foot black and white yacht was as soon as she saw the blue bow. She turned and looked at Xavier, who smiled.
Aww, xavi’, we’re going on a boat ride.
I thought you might want to test drive your new yacht.
She smiled big and threw her arms around him and hugged him tight. Are we going to start buying each other boats now?
Thought you might be bored with houses. He teased her and then grew serious for a moment. And don’t even think about it.
Think what, Love?
About buying a cruise ship…
I wouldn’t think of such a thing. She gasps and fakes being shocked before she then grows serious. But then again, with your clan and my clan, we’d need something that big.
The driver opened the door on Le’s side and helped her out as Xavier got out on his side. As he made his way around to Le’, she could sense his excitement and smiled. She knew that some people didn’t understand their relationship or how she could fall in love with a man like him; not with his track record; not that hers was much better. To be honest, when he left her all those years ago, after they first got married she pretty much thought she would never see him again. Little did she know, he would orchestrate an elaborate production, just to get her back and he even managed to win over her mother with a practical joke; a practical joke that cost Xavier $400 million in gold. Le’ still hasn’t figured out how to top that one, she could match him car for car and house for house, but she was still clueless on how to beat him paying her Bride price; unless she DID buy a cruise ship.
Come, milady.. Xavier held out his arm. Allow me to show you your new toy.
They made their way down to the ship, where the crew of 6 stood outside the gangplank waiting for them; one of them holding a bottle of champagne. Le’Andra admired the ship as they walked to the crew; smiling softly knowing he bought it just because of the name alone and her fondness of pearls. After brief introductions, Xavier was handed the bottle, who handed it over to Le’.
Your ship, you do the honor.
We can tie a rope around the railing and the bottle in case you can’t break the bottle. I would hate to lose that bottle in the drink. Le’Andra and Xavier gave the youngest crewman the same look and caused his voice to falter some. We’ve seen.. this happen.. Before… with... other... women.
My wife isn’t like other women. It was Xavier who broke the silence, he looked at Le’ and gave her a wink. The crew had expected her to walk closer to the bow but all she did was hand her husband her pocket book and sunglasses to hold before she turned towards the ship.
I christen thee.. Den svarte perlen. And with that, Le’Andra threw the bottle overhand by the neck like it was a damned war axe, shattering it on the bow and sending a spray of liquid and glass everywhere that caused everyone but Xavier to raise their arms to shield their faces as they turned their heads; he just nodded his head and smiled with pride. She turned around and smirked as she took her items back from her husband. Seven year Viking Clan Games axe throwing champion, gentlemen.
Don’t let that sweet innocent, slightly bruised face fool you, she is a beast. If you kneel and swear your fealty, she’ll probably forgive you.
XAVI’! She gasped in shock with a smile and playfully slapped him on the arm. They are going to think I am one of those mean rich women and they’ll have to walk around on eggshells.
They just watched you murder a bottle and hit me, I think they already know.
Everyone laughed and Xavier led her up the gangplank and on the ship; the crew went to their tasks to cast off. He took her through a quick tour and they finished on the rear deck in the al fresco dining area where the crew had laid out some finger foods and a bottle of champagne as the ship was pulling out of the harbor. Le’ watched as her husband poured them two glasses.
Is this because of the forehead thing? Because if it is Xavier fuckin’ Wolf, I will be furious with you. Jackson called in the best plastic surgeon he knew. There will be no scar.
That’s Ani’s middle name. He chuckled softly. Not at all, love, not at all. This was planned months ago.
Really, xavi’? Are you aware of how many times we’ve flown back and forth around the world since we got married?
Given the circumstances of the trips, I don’t count them.
Le’Andra looked at him with a soft smile as she reached up and caressed the side of his face. There was no doubt in this world, she loved him and would love him until the end of time. It had to be love, gods know, she has left other men for putting her through lessor and some for no reason at all. She leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips.
You are the most extraordinary man I know and I love you.
This time it was Xavier’s turn to smile. Ditto and if we had time, I’d show you, but we’ll be to our destination soon.
You asshole, you've been waiting two months to say that, haven’t you. She pushed herself away from him with a laugh and a smile.
I sure have. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her back to him, wrapping his arm and lacing his fingers in hers. Are you up for this match with Apathy? He knew it was a silly question to ask her, he’s seen her fight being hurt worse and even fought with two cracked ribs at the last Viking War Games; but this time things were different. He had caused her injury. You can sit this match out.
I know you’re feeling guilty about the forehead now. She sat up and looked at him; she could tell by the look on his face he was already regretting bringing up work. Imagine you thinking I can’t handle a match. Maybe I thumped you on your head a little too hard?
That’s a good possibility. He pulled her back down into his arms where she had previously been sitting. Both Kal and Vin had warned him before, never question your mate’s ability to handle her business. That’s entirely not what I meant either and you know it. You had a slight concussion was all I was saying.
If I were one of the trainees what would you tell me if I came to you talking about “my head hurts”?
I’d tell you to stop being a pussy and get in the ring. He already knew where she was going.
Exactly, so I will be facing Apathy at Showcase. She smiled at him. Besides, what kind of example would I be setting for the trainees?
Less than ten minutes later, one of the crew came and let them know they were almost to their destination if they wanted to move to the upper forward deck. Xavier thanked him and helped Le’ to her feet and then they went one deck up; X biting her on the ass as they went up the stairs causing her to squeal and laugh. A small lush tropical island surrounded by jagged rocks came into view. When he was looking for an island as soon as he saw it, he knew it was the one. It kind of reminded him of Le’. She had a rough jagged exterior that you had to get past until you got to the paradise inside.
When Xavier came up behind her, slipped his arms around her waist and leaned his chin on her shoulder, Le’ did as she always did; reached up and lovingly caressed his cheek. If you had asked her all those years ago when they first started “dating” if she thought they would end up right where they were right now. She would have laughed. Neither had really believed in love that their family and friends assured them they would find one day. He usually left relationships within six months and her within a year, so when the man who said he would never marry proposed to her, she figured he might be onto something and said yes.
When the steel blue multilevel stilted house came into view and Xavier felt the breath of awe fill his wife’s chest, he kissed her one more time on the shoulder and whispered into her ear. Velkommen hjem, min kjære.
Aww, you bought me another house, thank you, love.
An island.
She whirled around in his arms with a look of surprise on her face. You did not.
I did.
You bought an island with a house and a boat?
In all fairness, you bought an island and a house for me last month. And it’s a yacht for Christ’s sake.
I’m a viking, xavi’, they are all boats to me.
Of course they are, my little heathren.
With a kiss on her forehead, they went off to find the crew already thrown the anchor and was bringing out the smaller ship-to-shore boat and within a matter of minutes, Le’ and Xavier were standing alone on the small dock. The crew would be staying on the ship and the only other inhabitants were the caretaker and his family whom Xavier had already instructed after introductions to make themselves as scarce as possible for the duration of their first stay. He walked her from room to room, showing her around the house. Le’Andra was not shocked at all to find the place fully stocked, including the closet; granted it was just enough to get her going before they could hit the local shops and go shopping.
May 26, 2021; 6:49p - Steele Point Island, British Virgin Islands
Once they made it through the house, Xavier had her put on hiking boots and led her out on the grounds itself; she listened and couldn’t help but smile as he told her that the island was a part of a group of islands and when the Spanish first attempted to “discover” it; it had already been discovered by pirates who had set up a smugglers cove. She thought once that when the whole viking novelty of “her” wore off, he would have moved on to the next “thing” that caught his eye; but to her surprise, it never did happen. He did the opposite, he seemed to embrace it and he realized that no matter what she said and how she acted, it was who she was and she couldn’t change it; in a way, he helped her embrace it. The island was less than a mile long and even less than a half mile wide. Three-fourths of the island was a tropical rainforest that managed to grow on jagged rocks and a handful of fertile soil; the other one-fourth was an almost sheer rock face that went down 124 feet to a white sandy beach; there was an easier way to get down to the beach, like the wooden walkway from the small beach near the main house, but as soon as Le’Andra saw it, she got a rush of excitement.
Oh, my, xavi’, we’re going to have to-- Her words came out a hundred miles a minute.
Get some rope and harnesses, carabiners, gloves and shoes? He finished for her with a smile. Already at the house.
You thought of everything. She wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him tight to her.
And there is one more thing still to come. He took her hand in his and they began the walk back to the house.
I am hoping for a little more than one. She teased knowing it would be 50 times over before he was done.
As they neared the house, Xavier felt the cell phone in his pocket vibrate and pulled it out and looked at the name on the screen. He really didn’t want to take the call, they were on their honeymoon and he wanted them to focus completely and totally on them. The person didn’t call him back before they left, they were going to be gone for a week. He really needed to take the call. Le’ could see the moral dilemma he was having.
Take the call, love. I will meet you inside.
I promise, it will only be a minute.
And with a kiss on the lips, Le’Andra made her way up the steps to the front door. She made sure to put that extra wiggle in her walk that she knew Xavier liked, knowing he would be watching her as she walked away. She made her way into the main living room and stopped immediately and smiled; in the center of the room was a large treasure chest… this must be the one that was still to come.
Hmm, so, what do we have here?
She walked over and knelt down in front of it, she looked back at the doorway she had come through. Should she or shouldn’t she? Should she ruin any surprise he might have or should she just say screw it and open it and tell him that’s what he gets for leaving a viking alone with a damned treasure chest, especially one with piracy in her blood. She reached out and touched the black cherry wood that shined bright with the polishing it had received just for this moment, she almost felt guilty leaving her fingertips smudge on it.
Men and women since the beginning of time have fought for each other and against each other. My husband and I do it on a daily basis, it is the foundation of our relationship; we’ve turned it into an artform almost. In a way, it’s what keeps us mentally and physically prepared for what we have to do in the ring against our opponents. I know you must be thinking, but Le’Andra, your husband would never hurt you in your battles. Oh, how wrong you are, he knows that hurting me is the only way to prepare me for my opponents ahead. Because their number one job is to hurt me, to incapacitate me enough to where they can pin my shoulders to the mat for the count of three. He knows and I know, I can’t be at my peak performance if he’s hitting on me like a pussy.
She looked back at the doorway again, half expecting him to be standing there leaning against the doorway with his cocky smile telling her she was busted; but he still wasn’t there. She let her finger traced down to where the lock was with the key sticking out of it and ran her finger along the lock.
So, I expect nothing less from you, Apathy. She smiles. I don’t expect you to hit me like a pussy. As a matter of fact, I expect you to hit me hard, not a little harder, but a lot harder than my husband does. Because when my husband is hitting me, there’s usually not a win on the line. For you, however, it is a win. A win that could be very big for you, but it’s going to be a long and hard fought win, because I will not let you, or anyone for that matter, easily win over me. I am not the mountain that others are in this federation, but I am sure not an easy climb. Come at me hard, come at me fast, and come at me with a purpose, because I assure you, it’s how I will be coming for you.
She casually looked back at the open doorway again; still no Xavier. She grabbed the lock with both hands and gave the key a twist until the lock finally clicked open; she quickly jerked both her hands away and looked behind her. She laughed softly at herself for being silly.
Got to hand it to you though, for the past few months you’ve been doing well for yourself. You’ve managed to put together a pretty decent group of men around you. Grabbed yourself some titles even with. She gives a clap. Good for you, in this business, as with any business and life itself, it’s always good to have people to have your back, especially in great times of need. Will you need them during our match? I guess that’s really up for you to decide, but I can promise you, from one warrior to another, there are those who are watching my back and the first sign of your men that my people will appear and our little two person match is going to turn into a chaotic battle royal. Like I said, the call on that one is yours. I’d like it to be one on one...
...the way it was meant to be.
Not being able to take it anymore, she quickly pulled off the lock and threw open the chest and she smiled with a look of awe on her face. She reached in and pulled out the first of a half dozen different swords. She slowly pulled it out of the sheath, sucking in a breath of air through her teeth as she admired the exquisite workmanship of the blade. She pulled a couple of daggers out and looked at them, testing their sharpness on the palm of her hand; she barely had to apply pressure before the blade had drawn blood. This was not a pansy-ass treasure chest, this was a god-damned fucking war chest with handcrafted weapons
He really does love me. She teared up and smiled so big and quickly rushed to put the swords back in before Xavier made it back inside.
When Xavier finished with the phone call, he turned his cell phone off and made his way inside to find Le’Andra. He knew that she had to have already found the chest by now and was probably looking through it like she was a kid on Christmas day. He had planned on taking her inside and teasing her with what could be in it, but the phone call had prevented that. He closed the door and got ready to call Le’s name when one of the swords came sliding smoothly across the marble tile towards him and came to a stop; he looked at the sword before he looked up in the direction it had come from.
The tip of a sword identical to the one that was on the floor beside Xavier came through some black curtains across a doorway at the end of the hall, followed by Le’Andra. She walked slowly poised in a swordsman stance, her right sword extended in a challenge, her left was close to her side, slight smirk on her lips. When she was looking at the swords earlier, she knew what the two newer swords were for and they sure weren’t for hanging on a wall.
Paid 7 mil for these swords. He eyed her as she stood there, sword still raised.
You scared of the 3 million dollar sword? Or the woman behind it?
Oooh. He looked at her with a shocked expression and then repeated it again, this time in a different tone. Oooh, alright. We can do this. He unzipped the light leather jacket he had been wearing and dropped it to the floor. Their eyes never broke contact as he did this, both shared the same cocky smirk as he reached down as scooped up the sword. Alright, Løvinnen, let’s dance.
They stepped towards each other with swords raised and pointed towards each, their steps and movements graceful and light as they stalked each other like prey. They eyed each other in a manner that was seductive in nature, then at the same time they raised the swords and swung and both blocked each other. They danced in circles with each other as they lunged and parried. Le’s swung across his chest causing Xavier to take a few steps back and look down to see a slash across his white button up shirt, he looked up in time to see his wife spin around with a smile on her face.
Le’ watched as Xavier smiled and nodded his head as they slowly started to circle each other again, she knew that nod was both a threat and a promise. He took the collar of his ripped shirt and gave it a jerk that sent buttons scattering across the floor. He pulled the tucked in part up and soon shed the shirt and dropped it on the floor. They lunged and blocked again, moved in a circle, both looking like they were about to drop the swords and kiss before Le’ broke away and when she did Xavier brought his sword down and now the black dress had matching slits up both sides. Le’ gasped and looked down and grabbed it and inspected the tear in the material.
We’ll get another. Xavier reassured her once he saw the look of disappointment on her face, it was one of their favorites.
Again they circled each other, narrowing the space between them as they got to the center of the room once more, before they raised their swords and crossed them. Le’ was the first to strike and as she stepped back Xavier made a riposte and slashed down the front of the dress and fabric giving away to the thin point of the sword causing her to gasp out again and look down to see her breasts still trapped in the black lace bra now exposed. The way she held her head and the look on her face, you didn’t have to hear the words “really, xavi’?” be uttered from her lips. Xavier shrugged his shoulders a little bit and sheepishly smirked, kind of proud of himself for that one. He was worried he was going to catch the bra and her breasts be out and he wouldn’t be able to focus for the rest of the duel; his wife would have continued on tits out or not.
She smiled and nodded her head as they circled each other, again getting to the center of the room. Le’ struck again, this time she struck hard pushing him back a few feet with her lunges, until he grabbed her by the wrist and pushed her away; as she spun in a circle, he brought his sword down not once, but twice and two strips of fabric from the front and the back fell to the floor. Le’Andra’s floor length dress was now trimmed just enough to where you could just barely see her pale ass cheeks.
Man, I love those legs.
...Was all that Xavier managed to get out before Le’Andra lunged again. Xavier sidestepped her and she went into the wall. She turned around to face Xavier with her back against the wall and looked up in time to see him as he walked towards her with a smile and stuck the sword in the wall just inches from her throat. She looked over at the sword, it’s tip was sticking through her jacket and then looked back at him to find him slowly leaning in to kiss her.
With a speed that Xavier didn’t think she was capable of, she pulled the arm that didn’t have a sword at the end of it through the jacket sleeve, dropped the sword and caught it with that hand and pulled her other arm free. She gripped the sword with both hands, made two quick slashes in an X-like fashion before she spun to the left and backed three steps away from him and stood there sword up on guard. Xavier looked down just in time for gravity to take a hold of the belt buckle and it pulled his pants down almost to his knees, revealing the red silk boxers that he wore.
Man, I love those legs. Le’s voice came from behind him.
You think you’re funny.
Le’Andra could tell just by the way Xavier moved that it was officially on. She laughed and turned towards the stairs behind her as he just nodded his head with a smile, never taking his eyes from her, as he cut away the rest of his pants and as soon as he kicked them away he started up the stairs after her. They crossed swords multiple times as they made it to the second floor and at the top of the stairs Le’ turned to run just as Xavier brought the sword down; she felt the tip of the sword pierce the neckline of the dress and she arched her back inwards with a gasp. She stopped, whirled around to face him and as she lowered her left arm, they both watched as the dress fell from her shoulders and ended up dangling on the wrist of her sword hand.
They stepped towards each other to where they were just inches apart, swords pointed to the floor and began to circle once again. Xavier leaned in for a kiss only to miss his mark as Le’Andra ducked down, swept her leg under him and put him on his back. Before he could get to his feet, she was raining blow after blow down on him, he blocked them as he scrambled away from her while still on the floor using his other arm and legs to get away until Le’ backed him into a wall. She stood there looking down at him with a smirk before she took the edge of the blade up one of his cheeks and down the other and whirled away from him leaving laughter in her wake.
Xavier’s hand shot to his cheeks and he rubbed them both; that stumble she had complained about earlier was no longer there. He looked at his hand and was not at all shocked to see there was no blood, Le’ was known to be very precise in her cuts. He smiled as he got to his feet and hauled ass up the third flight of stairs after Le’ taking them two at a time to catch up with her.
Hope you know you’re shaving the rest of this later on tonight. He called after her.
The rooftop door burst open and Le’Andra came running out with Xavier about three paces behind, they were both laughing until Le’Andra finally whirled around. Xavier raised his sword up and brought it down on Le’ with her blocking it. With swords still crossed Le’ glanced down for a moment and then looked back up and nibbled on her bottom lip just slightly with a smile; with what she saw as far as she was concerned, foreplay was over. They circled each other, each time getting closer and closer; until again their lips were just inches apart. Le’ reached up and caressed the side of his face, hand going to his neck and finally his chest. He leaned in to kiss her and when their lips were about to touch Le’Andra pushed hard on Xavier’s chest sending him backwards a few steps. His calves caught the lip of the skylight and he fell backwards and crashed straight through the glass and fell 20 feet to the bed below. Le’Andra walked over to the broken skylight and smirked down at Xavier as he slowly stirred; she quickly turned and strode back across the rooftop.
Xavier heard her coming before he saw her and leaned up on his elbows amidst the bed of shattered glass. She stepped into sight having already shed the rest of her clothing and walked towards him in a sultry manner, dragging the sword’s tip along the marble tile; his lower region involuntarily jumped. As soon as she made it to the edge of the bed, Xavier reached up, grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her down on top of him then rolled her over onto the bed… the glass piercing each other's skin was the last thing on their minds.
