Hello my fellow roster. So as has been alluded to over the past couple of weeks, there are some exciting changes coming!
To give a short background, basically myself (who handles Stephen Stratford and JJ Starfire) and Vin (who handles Xavier Wolf, Vincent Black and Asher) recently approached Jason to ask for his blessing in going to do a side project that would enable us to write more frequently and use ideas that we had and couldn’t use in OPW. After a short discussion, Jason asked us to take our ideas and apply them to OPW and join him in a more formal staffing arrangement where we would have an equal say in the running of OPW.
As part of this process, we brought Amanda (Vhodka Marie, Demi Stratford, Noelle Rivers) and Candice (Voodoo, Anicka Swan, Le’Andra Fury, Allison Riggs-Preston) on board to assist us with planning, writing, organisation and general other tasks. In addition to this, Chris (who handles Roger Wright and Ryan Elias) will return to staff shortly after a small break due to real life needs.
Cool story. Yeah. I know. What does it mean?
It means that many of the ideas we had for our own side thing are going to come to OPW and I have listed them below.
- [*]Our fed will change its name (its name will be revealed soon).
[*]We will stop using ProBoards and use something custom built for the next generation of OPW.
[*]Showcase #33 will be the last official OPW show, and it’ll be PPV level matches
[*]Our weekly show will actually run every week, with a Friday deadline and Saturday results. New card Saturday also. We intend to have 5 or 6 matches and alternate the roster from one show to the next.
[*]Our show will take place in one venue. This venue is a tower, where you may also live if you wish to. There are nice penthouses for the champions, dormitories for others. This is optional worldbuilding things that you can choose to use if you desire.
[*]Lots of in-character changes, but mostly flavor changes. The practical changes that will impact you as a writer are documented here.
[*]Our championships will change. All of them. But the holders of the titles will not.
[*]We will run our new show in a season format. The season will be made up of TWO pay per views and 10 weekly shows. The first PPV in the cycle will be more of a minor PPV and the season finale will be a big PPV (think Stairway, WrestleCade, etc). 5.5 days to RP for the weekly show. 11 days to RP for the PPVs. A total of 14 weeks per season. One week break between seasons.
[*]There will be much more emphasis on storytelling, and getting your involvement in storytelling. This means that although you will RP for every match you are booked in, the outcome of the match may not necessarily be dependant on your RP. However, important, story-ending matches will always be judged on who’s RP was the best. We are aiming to have specific judging criteria in place for this.
[*]There will be a merit system that determines who challenges for titles, the specifics of this will be revealed after the first set of results.
[*]Each week there will be a writing concept, with bonus points given to those that excel in writing to the given concept.
