<<<<<<< The Revolution Will Be Televised >>>>>>>
Revolution, a word in Merriam-Webster’s dictionary that has taken on many definitions and meanings. From literal, involving the rotation of celestial bodies upon their axes, to more centered ideals. When it comes to the human experience, revolution is tied to drastic, often-times radically seismic changes. Revolution has always been synonymous with changes of leadership, some by force and some not. Well, revolution is an integral part of growth in all aspects. Revolution has always been seen as the driving force that keeps an evolution going. This time, revolution takes hold in a brand new way.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The revolution started on a Monday night in the birthplace of good ole “southern rasslin’”; Atlanta, Georgia. While Monday Night Showca$e had ended some time ago, one Mason Alexander Vanderbilt was still rushing from the adrenaline of making his debut on the program. It was now the early morning hours on Tuesday. Mason, dressed in a simple white button up, and black bottoms, is seated at the hotel bar. While there were a few faces within the bar, no one that he would go out of his way to make conversation with. Instead, he keeps his drink of choice, an old fashioned, in his hands. With each sip, he looks over the bar, obviously waiting on someone to arrive. After a few moments, he lets out a chuckle before placing the glass down onto the bar. Standing up, he pushes the seat on the side of him out, as Sienna walks towards the bar. The vivacious blonde looked stunning in a simple black dress. She smiled at her compatriot as she took a seat at the stool next to his. After smiling for a moment, she turns her head over towards the bartender.
“I’ll take a vodka martini, please.”
With a nod, the bartender begins to prepare her drink. As Mason sits next to her, he can’t help but to crack a smile.
“Vodka martini? I didn’t take you as a dirty drink kind of woman.”
Let a soft smile cover her face, Sienna lets out a soft laugh.
“Sweetheart, I enjoy many different kinds of drinks. I’m an alcohol aficionado. You don’t really get to be on a reality tv dating show, without being some kind of alcoholic.”
Mason let out a soft laugh as he took a drink of his old fashioned. He took a moment to swallow the drink before he spoke again.
“I kind of forgot that you did that dumb dating show. You dated multiple people in a villa on an island for what… six weeks? That’s how you met Donovan, correct? That’s how you two had that todrey relationship for over a year… I don’t understand how you did that show.”
Shrugging her shoulders, Sienna reaches over and grabs her martini, and takes a sip. After a moment, she places the glass back onto the bar.
“I don’t regret it. You know how much exposure that I was given thanks to that show? I may regret putting myself in a relationship with Donovan, but I can’t say that it was a bad experience. I mean, we’ve both done some things in our lifetimes. I mean I’ve done reality television, you dabbled in politics. Come on, we’ve both been in the seedy underbelly of the beast before.”
Shooting a quizzical look at Sienna, Mason lets out a soft laugh. He takes another sip of the drink before responding to her.
“I don’t know if I’ve ever heard anyone compare reality television and politics, but you are not about that. When I decided to run for Congress, I thought it was a good idea. Just like I am sure you thought looking for love on reality television was a good one.I guess we both failed in our own ways. You know, without those failures I don't think we’d be where we are now.”
As Sienna took a long sip of her martini, she nodded her head in agreement. After a moment, she placed the glass onto the table once again.
“You know, I never really thought that professional wrestling would be my claim to fame, but I’m not about it. You have the background for it, I’m just a pretty face if we’re being completely honest. I love it, don’t get me wrong. I just didn't think that I would be doing it as a career. You know, I always thought that my life would involve me being a movie star. I never thought that I would be a bikini model, turned reality star, turned wrestler. It’s kind of crazy.”
Finishing off his drink, Mason places the glass down onto the bar. As the bartender picks up the glass, Mason motions that he would like another.
“I mean I was always an athlete. I just didn’t expect to make my way here. I mean I served and then I thought I’d try my hand in politics, that didn’t work. Then, you know you gain some notoriety from running and then people realized I was apparently attractive. So you know, I modeled while I started training for this. It’s funny I met my children’s mother and she was an aspiring model, but that didn’t work out for her. She’s bitter and can’t handle it, I don’t think it could have happened to a nicer person. I don’t wish any bad will towards her, but she’s what kept me from going into wrestling in the first place. I never thought that someone who thought they’d make it in a selective business would try to crush my dreams, but she certainly tried.”
As Sienna finished up her drink, she looked over at Mason with a smile.
“Hun, everyone has someone that tries to shatter their dreams. It’s unfortunate, but it’s also gratifying once you prove them wrong. Think about all the good you can do for your children now, and she’s still just bitter. I don’t know how you do it, but I know you deserve a world better than what she’s giving you. I deserved better than the relationship that I had with Donovan. It’s life, things go in waves and things change. That’s exactly why we go out and do the things we do in the interim. Which brings me to tonight…”
Slightly confused by the end of her statement, Mason looks over at Sienna. Reaching into her handbag, she pulls out a hotel room key. Slowly, she slides it over to Mason with a smirk on her face.
“We’re business associates, and friends. However, tonight I think we can both use a little extra something. Meet me upstairs in ten minutes. This happens once, and we never speak of it again. Our business dealings are important, but so is sexual gratification. I think that’s something we can both use right now. Oh, and thanks for the drink, I’ll pay you back in spades.”
With the smirk firmly planted on her face, Sienna slowly stands up from the barstool. Looking over at Mason, she reaches over grabbing his hand. Holding hers over his for a moment, the two lock eyes. For a moment, the two simply looked at each other, tension and temptation building. Slowly, Sienna retracts her hand and walks away, Mason never letting his eyes leave her body as she walks away. After a moment, he turned back to face the bar where the bartender was standing in front of him.
“Sir, please tell me you’re fucking that.”
Mason scoffs as he reaches his hand into his pocket. Pulling out a one hundred dollar bill, he places it onto the counter as she looks up at the bartender.
“I’m not... no matter how much she wants to.”
Shaking his head, the bartender grabs the money off of the counter. Mason stands up from his seat, pressing down upon his shirt. With a simple nod, he gestures for the bartender to keep the change. A grin fell over his face as he walked away from the bar, holding the key to Sienna’s hotel room. Placing it into his pocket, he exits the bar knowing exactly what he needed to do.

A wise man once said; “everything in life is about sex, except sex. Sex is about power”. There were few statements that could be made in life that reigned more true than that. There’s something alluring about the prospects of having a woman ready to bend at your whim. Having a beautiful woman waiting and wanting you to ravage them like they’ve only dreamed about… but that’s how a succubus gets her power. Yes, of course any man in his right mind would love to bed Sienna Sharpe, but some things just shouldn’t happen. We are friends, and we are working really close together. Yet, falling into bed with someone like that completely changes the dynamic of what is going on. Once a man inserts his penis into a woman like Sienna, she takes control. All the little powers in our relationship that I would have had, they’d be gone. She’d be in control and quite frankly, I’m not really willing to let that happen… not yet. One of the earliest things I learned about the wrestling business is never mixing your business and pleasure, especially if it’s with someone wise to how the world works. A hook-up with Sienna would send our dichotomy into a tizzy, and I’m not willing to let that happen. I knew, even if I wanted to at the moment, it was not the right move to make. That’s why the key was slipped right under the door of room five-thirty-two. I one this round, but I know she’ll never stop trying.
>>>>>> A VANDERBILT ADDRESS >>>>>>>
A large sign saying “Vanderbilt” adorns a single white wall in simple red, white, and blue regalia. Two American flags stand aside the sign, one at its left and one at the right. In front of the sign, a single podium can be seen. At the front of the podium, a sign similar to that of the back hangs upon it. Slowly, Sienna Sharpe, wearing a pink dress can be seen walking towards the podium. As she walks towards the podium, she places her hands atop it for a moment.
“Ladies and gentlemen, for those of you who missed last week's Monday Night Showca$e, I am Sienna Sharpe. I am here to speak to you all about the idea of revolution. You see, nothing in life can happen without some form of revolution. Without revolutionaries, this world would be quite frankly, a terrible place. Historically, when things get tough, it is up to the revolutionaries to change the world for the better. Well, I am here to introduce to you a professional wrestling savant. I am here to introduce to you the man that will bring this business back to its roots. The man who will show all of Outlaw Pro Wrestling that there’s still a spot for the traditionalist. There’s still a spot for the true, pure athlete. There is a spot for the Maverick… Mason Alexander Vanderb
ilt!”
Turning her attention to her right, Sienna lifts her hands and begins clapping as Mason, dressed in another designer Armani suit walks towards the podium. Sienna takes a step back as Mason steps forwards towards the podium. With a smirk on his face, Mr. Vanderbilt places his hands onto the podium. He takes a controlled, deep breath before he begins to speak.
“Thank you Sienna, that was a wonderful introduction. Ladies and gentlemen, there is a huge problem that needs to be addressed in the world of professional wrestling. Last week, I spent a lot of time reflecting on the grandest days of professional wrestling. I thought about what made me a fan of this business before I became part of the business. When I was a young man, I fell in love with the pure athleticism that professional wrestling possessed. I fell in love with that sheer athleticism. I stayed up for hours studying tapes from years ago, when professional wrestling actually meant something. You see, this business has evolved, but not every evolution is for the best. One thing that I’ve learned in my life is that not every change that is made is for the better. You see, I see the writings all over the walls of Outlaw Pro Wrestling. A company that has been run by shoddy criminals, and that’s not a good look for a man of my caliber. However, I believe in the idea of revolution. There is a change in the air, and I will be part of that change. This will no longer be a place in which Jim Cornette will place his harsh, yet correct rants about. While a wrestler simply cannot change the trajectory of a business like this on his own. He can show that there are bright spots in there. That is why I signed with Outlaw Pro Wrestling. I am a student of the past, and I believe that the past is what revolutionizes this business.”
Looking over at Sienna for a second, he sees her nod in approval from his words. Taking his right hand from the podium, he points forwards as if to directly point at whomever is watching his statement.
“You all deserve better than what you’ve been getting. We deserve to have a world where professional wrestling is once again a respected sport of gladiators. We deserve a world where Jim Cornette gets a hard on for the work that we do. I want to push us to a more perfect professional wrestling business, and to do that, it will take work. It will take hard work, and that is a job that I am more than willing to spearhead. Changes will not happen overnight, and they will not all be easy to make. However, no matter the challenge, Mason Alexander Vanderbilt stands tall, and wants to see the professional wrestling business reach the mountaintop once again. To reach that mountaintop, these renegades and outlaws need to step aside, and embrace my vision. Embrace our vision for better professional wrestling. Now, Monday night is the night in which my journey begins. In the first of my many match-ups that will cleanse this company of that debauchery in which it has embraced, I take on three worthy adversaries.”
Placing her hands onto her hips, Sienna lets out a soft laugh at the term “worthy adversaries”. Looking over at Sienna, Mason raises his right eyebrow. After a moment, he turns his attention back towards the front of the podium.
“At Monday Night Showca$e, which I think quite frankly the spelling of is quite asinine, I compete in an elimination chase match. While I am not positive what that may contain, I do know that I will be victorious. Now, there should be no question in the minds of anyone who hears my words as to why I would be victorious, but I could easily explain in many ways. Yet, I don't believe any of you will understand without a simple explanation, so I will give you that. Monday Night, I face off with three uniquely different gentlemen. I face off and will eliminate three men who could be great for the future of whatever this company is going to become. However, they are not me. They may be worthy adversaries, but they are not Mason Alexander Vanderbilt. I am a battle-tested, war-ready athlete. These three men simply are no match for the B.D.E that I have. You see, I look at an athlete like Mister J, who quite frankly needs a better name. He’s big, he’s supposedly scary, but he’s no match for me. He can come out with his lip-syncing valet that is frankly scarier than he could ever be, but it won’t matter. His pomp and circumstance will do nothing but get a few clicks on YouTube. He will falter when it’s time to step up to me, because they all do. I’ve looked real killers in the eyes before, nothing about a special little romp to the ring is going to intimidate me. I make a grand entrance too, but you better believe that when the bell rings… I back the shit up.”
Sienna continues to nod along in the background as Mason speaks. Taking a moment, Mason shakes his head and takes another controlled breath.
“Josiah Black, I hate to sound condescending, but I’m not exactly scared of you either. You’ve been around OPW for some time it seems, but everything I know about you deals with your love life it seems. I’m sure that you are a worthy athlete to step into the ring with me, but I’m not exactly sure you can handle me. I’m a raging bull in a China shop, you’re something but I don’t know what that something exactly is. I’m happy to see you stepping away from some tag team competition and getting your hands dirty on your own, but that won’t stop you from losing to me, so good luck sport.”
Looking down for a moment, Mason takes another deep breath before picking his head up. A serious, stern expression comes over his face.
“Now, that brings me to one Amari Kent. You sir, you are quite the conundrum in my head. Wrestler, television personality, reality star, you really do wear quite a few hates now don’t you? I have to say, I haven’t watched all that much of the Life franchise, but you’re quite a character from that. I respect the entrepreneurial hustle that it truly takes to make yourself a marketable crossover superstar. In fact, I believe that it’s great when done correctly, but while I respect you for that, you’re not going to be able to beat me. See, I’m a professional athlete first. Yes, I dabble in modeling, because it’s impossible not to when you’re this aesthetically pleasing. Yet, I don’t let that overpower the fact that I am a professional wrestler first. I hone my craft, and I am damn proud of what I know I can do. I doubt that I can honestly say the same about you. This isn’t reality television, this is professional wrestling. Yeah, Sienna comes from a reality tv background, but it’s not everything anyone knows about her. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about you. I know that you star on one of the most progressive reality television shows in the entire world, but I know nothing about your wrestling acumen. While I am more than sure that you will be a worthy adversary, I do not believe that wrestling is your focus. You feel as if wrestling is a side project of yours, and the illusion of reality television is the paramount of your focus. That will be your untimely undoing my friend, and that is the biggest reason why you will not be victorious against me.”
Once again, Mason turns his head and looks over at Sienna. The vivacious blonde then walks over to the podium, and stands near Mason. Once again, he turns forward to speak once more.
“I do not believe that any of these men are by any stretch of the imagination, terrible athletes. In fact, I believe that they are all in their own way worthy gladiators to compete in the arena that OPW has given them. I, however, am a different type of gladiator than these three men. I am a life-long athlete. I am a fighter. I am a wrestler that Mr. Jim Cornette is proud of. I am a wrestler that will change the perception of what OPW represents no matter its future on the Home Box Office. Ladies and gentleman, it is now time to trust in me. Trust in my process, trust the Maverick!”
At the end of his speech, Mason backs away from the podium. His stern, serious expression is still worn on his face as the scene fades out.
