They thought they could kill me. They thought that they could bring me to an end and continue on with their own twisted desires. Their own beliefs whilst tearing down the processes. The foundations that I had put into place. They failed in their quest. Yet I wanted them to believe that they succeeded. That they had finished the job so that when the time was ripe. When the moment arose that the truth would be revealed - it was when they would least expect it. The old principle of lulling them into a false sense of security and then striking when the iron was at its hottest. At Showcase, that moment arrived.
I hope you enjoyed it Jayson. I hope this moment festers in your mind - screaming as you attempt to shed your skin of it. Shunt it away whilst recovering, for I want it to be a constant reminder of the time you failed. The time that you simply didn't get the job done. For you were the one they had trusted with executing their end game.
The one who was supposed to leave me in the coffin as it was lowered into the ground, yet I'm still here. I'm still standing, just as I will be until my time finally comes to farewell this world. Something you nor anybody else can define or decide. I truly do hope you come back however, as I think we both know that our batle. Our war is one that is going to rage on eternally. Whether it be us engaging with one another or the flames simply simmering. Dancing as they wait for the next chapter to commence in our little tale.
I know that the time will come when you shall seek me out. Avenge what I inflicted upon you at Showcase and I await it. I embrace it Jayson, because what happened there. What I did to you in order to make sure you realised that you hadn't completed the mission --- that was only the beginning of what I have in store. Trust me, I have plenty more waiting for you in the wings. Designed to not just break you. Not just to send you into the mire but to do what you couldn't. To ensure that you are the one who fades into the nothingness, left with nothing but the bed that you made for yourself. Just as it needs to be. For Jayson --- this is what you have desired from the very start. So rest easy and know that the time will come when you will be able to finally obtain what you seek.

Scott sits alone, inside of the apartment in Auburn, having returned about 10 days after Showcase. He had some other things that he had needed to attend to, but those aren't relevant to this tale. His thoughts flow through his mind as he looks around for the first time since his supposed "death" all those months ago, a blank look across his face.
Deep down, he knows how close they were to actually managing to fulfil their promise. To take him down so that they could carry out their own desires. It still haunts him, no matter how much he attempts to shake it off. No matter how much he convinces himself that he need no longer fear death for he stared it straight in the face and continued to walk. Laughed at it to a certain point.
"I'm still here --- I survived everything they tried ---"
His words echo as he leans back against the sofa. His eyes appearing to at least be somewhat glazed over whilst he lets out a deep breath. The moment he looked into the eyes of Bianca and Lucina radiating within his mind. Just as it has since Showcase came to its close and he returned to their longing arms. Embracing her again felt like the greatest moment of his life. A moment where he truly felt whole once more. Where nothing else mattered to him but her arms
Her warmth and the feeling of passion flowing through the 2 of them. Just as it was when they truly committed to one another all those years ago.
"They thought they could rid themselves of me. That they could tear me away --- yet they now know that they never could. That the bond I share with Bianca. With Lucina. With those who truly matter to me is stronger than they could have ever fathomed. All along, it was about playing to the end game. To planting the seeds and putting everything into motion so that when the time was ripe. When it was called upon to carry out the revelation of their failure --- they never saw it coming."
A small smile appears upon his face as he pauses.
"Just as it needed to be. For this had been bubbling under the surface. Marinating as they continued their little dance. Their song about how they had won the war, when all they had truly done was plant the seeds of their own destruction. Their own final song --- one that they set about for themselves. For Jayson."
Softly laughing, he glances around. Noticing everything that he has missed during his absense. The table in the middle of the room, the TV, although he doesn't watch it much. The violet croshet rug that Bianca purchased during his time away - it all feels new to him. As if this is his first time seeing it. Just like the light that flickers within his eyes.
"What happened when I sent you through the table was only the beginning. The first step in ensuring that people realise that no matter what they try. No matter how sure they may be of their success, they are not the ones who decide my fate. They are not the ones who hold the key --- and now, the wheels can truly start motioning. The cogs can start churning as you lay within the bed you made. Wondering just what it is that comes next. What is the next chapter of the story that we have to tell?
For I know you cannot comprehend it. I know you cannot see what it is, for if you were able to --- if you had realized it, you would have done what you promised. You would have made certain that what occurred all those months ago was truly the end of me. You would have actually pulled that trigger."
He then lowers his voice to a whisper.
"You didn't. You couldn't do it, could you, Jayson?"
His voice then returns to its standard cadance.
"You couldn't live with the knowledge that blood would have been on your hands. That nothing you would have been able to say. Nothing you would have been able to do would have been enough to wash it off you skin. That would have eaten away at you, wouldn't it? It would have forced you to question what you truly are, and if this was the road you wished to walk? Knowing that you own hands could bring about the end of another's life?"
His words then become more pointed as he straightens up his posture. Knowing that his back is still aching. The price he has paid throughout the course of his career.
"That's why you turned to them and pretended you had done it --- when you had let me live. Well, Jayson - I hope it was worth it. I hope you are at peace with that decision because now --- I will show you why you should have killed me when you had the chance."
His smile becomes more sinister in nature, almost like there is still remnants of the one they named Korrupt still residing within him. Remnants that he either hasn't or doesn't wish to shed from his identity.
"For now - it is time for your penance, and Jayson, I'm not like you. I can live with blood on my hands. I can live knowing that I brought about another's end. So I promise you this - I am going to send you into the mire and ensure that for you, there is no point of return. That it is with nothing that the reaper shall claim your very essance for itself."
He chuckles.
"I'll be waiting for when you return - for now I am no longer playing your game. I am no longer the marionette you wish for me to be. It's your turn to play my game."
With that, he stands up - whilst he had been speaking, he had heard Bianca's footsteps coming down the hallway behind the lounge, having returned home from running a few errands. Heading in that direction, Scott smiles upon seeing her.
Bianca- Hey babe.
"Hey hun."
Bianca- You settled back in well? I know it's been a while ---
Hushing her, he simply nods. As much as he knows the 2 of them must bare the scars of his absense, it's not something that he wishes to broach just yet. They are still too raw inside of him. Bianca gives him an understanding nod.
Bianca- I know.
"Yeah. Anyway, I'm just gonna go into the office. Need some alone time."
Bianca- Okay.
She heads towards the kitchen as he makes his way towards the office. Preparing to think about his next steps.
---
That time will come. It does not matter when it does - just that I know you will seek me out when our next chapter is to commence. That bridge shall be crossed when the time comes for it to be. Not now.
As for the next task that I have awaiting me - Eoin, you and I haven't really spoken too much. We may know of one another and exist within the same plane as one another, but we don't truly know what the other is capable of. Just what it is that has drawn the 2 of us to one another - and that is perfectly okay. For it has never mattered to me if I know my opponent prior to our first dance together, just that they know that the moment they step into the ring with me. The moment that they look me in the eyes, they realise I'm not just here to beat me.
I'm not just here to walk in, take the win and then walk out. It's never been the sort of person I am. Trust me, I get it - a win counts as a feather in the cap of the victorious. They are the ones who hold it near and dear to them, yet to me - it is simply a tool. A device, designed to enable an implement you cannot fully grasp. One that when the time is ripe, shall blossom and come to life before your very own eyes.
To me, you are simply a piece of the puzzle. Somebody who must roam into the mire so that it can all be fulfilled. So that everything that has been designed can fall into place. That doesn't change whether I win or if I fall. As for how it shall impact you - that is for you to decide. See, I'm not trying to bring about your end. I'm not here to be the one that finally lays you to rest --- at least, not now. That is, unless you wish for me to be. Something that shall come to light at Showcase.
---
Sitting in the office, Scott simply stares forward. Knowing that in less than a week, he shall be standing in that ring as himself - not as Korrupt for the first time in a year. He'd be lying if he didn't admit there were still aspects of Korrupt that resided within him. Festering just beneath the surface.
"Eoin, you aren't the end game. You aren't the one they desire right now - yet you are the one who shall be standing before me. The one designed to cast a light upon me at Showcase. A role you shall more than fulfill. See, this is your big opportunity. This is your chance to step into the ring and complete the task Jayson couldn't. Your chance to prove your worth --- yet you have no idea on how to execute it. You have no idea on just how you're going to beat me, do you Eoin?"
He smirks.
"I can sense it in your eyes. I can see the doubt that riddles your body. Telling you that this is a match unlike any other. That you're not simply going into this match against somebody who wishes to defeat you - but instead to use you as a vessal. A vechile for a grander message. A statement sent from the shrine on which we stand."
Pausing, he empthasises these next words.
"They're right."
He then flashes his famed half smile.
"For my aim isn't to walk out of the match with the win. That's just a bonus to me. A neat little bow to wrap around the box. This is about making sure that it is understood that what had been planted all those months ago. Those little seeds that they tried to ruin. That they tried to bend to their own will --- are about to come to life in the way they were always designed to. You are just another piece of the puzzle. Nothing more and nothing less."
He chuckles, staring blankly forward.
"And at Showcase, that is what shall be revealed to the world. See you there."
END.
I hope you enjoyed it Jayson. I hope this moment festers in your mind - screaming as you attempt to shed your skin of it. Shunt it away whilst recovering, for I want it to be a constant reminder of the time you failed. The time that you simply didn't get the job done.
