Be careful what you wish for.
This is an adage you should have heeded Hunter, because now --- now you get what you have been calling for all this time. What you have been clamouring for ever since these doors re-opened. That is, a match with me. I didn't realise the last time we faced off in that ring got under your skin so much. I didn't realise beating you was all I needed to do in order to live rent free inside of your head. Cause you to turn into the old obsessive ex trope until there was no option to pacify you but allow you to get this match.
Though, I have no qualms with stepping between the ropes with you again. It enables me to continue the descent into madness. The passage towards the mire that you have been walking one. A path that it appears I had initially sent you down in the first place, when I took away your X-Kore title. See, Hunter, last time we faced - I was merely making a statement. You were simply the avenue I needed to transverse in order to truly initiate the cleansing. Nothing more.
Your purpose was served the moment I walked into the ring and took that belt from you. I moved on and forged my path with the title --- truly making it mine. Something you never did during your reign as champion. I'm sure that hurts to hear. I'm sure you're probably snarling right now, wondering how somebody like me can question the almighty Hunter Valentyne.
The answer is simple - I'm the only one who isn't afraid to tell you the truth. The one who is willing to step up and shoot down your little ego-fuelled delusions. There's a reason you can't stand the sight of me. Why whenever you see me, you feel the need to attempt to convince yourself that I'm nothing. That I'm just a little bug who needs to be squashed. It's because you cannot live with the fact that when you and I step between those ropes, you just cannot get the job done. You are unable to validate those words by pinning me to the mat.
That haunts you.

Scott sits within the confines of what appears to be a botanical garden. A soft smile across his face.
"I did exactly what I was going to do to Eoin. I told him he was simply the next domino to fall. That he was the next cog to fall into place and that's exactly what he was. Just as it had been written from the start."
He chuckles, as he feels a slight twinge inside of him. Almost like a cry of sorts - one coming from the entity known as Korrupt. A persona he admits fragments of still reside deep within him. Intertwined with the man that he has always been - and a reminder of what they put him through.
"Yet that was just the first part. That was just the opening act of what is to come. That allowed the movement towards vengeance to truly unfold. A march that shall continue until they understand that the fires. The walls of flames that surround them, are just waiting to collapse. For the time that they can swallow them whole --- a time that inches ever so closer with each passing second."
He pauses, the chill from his voice floating through the air.
"I promise that it will be worth the wait when it finally arrives."
He then rises, continuing his walk, as his mind turns from that toward the next challenge he has been given. One that some might say has been 2 years in the making. A match against Hunter Valentyne. A smirk across his face, he knows that Hunter will remember the last time the duo shared a ring. Not as fondly as Scott does, but remember it regardless. He knows that it likely still lives within Hunter's head that he lost that night. That he fell.
"Hunter, we meet again."
He states, running his hand through his hair.
"I see you haven't forgotten about our last match. When I told you I was going to go out there and expose you. Show you that your words. Your supposed air of invincibility was nothing more than a facade. A means for you to hide the lost, insecure little child that resided within you and I did just that. See Hunter, I'm a man of my word. I don't just say things to hear myself speak or project fragilities about myself upon others. I say them because they are the truth. They are what you have needed to hear, even if you believe I'm just a swarmy little bug."
He flashes a grin.
"I mean, I am absolutely swarmy. I don't hide from that at all - kind have to be in this business. Something you should know all too well. That's neither here nor there, though. See Hunter, I know that last defeat hurts. I knew that you weren't the sort of person who would let sleeping dogs lie. That would allow yourself to have egg plastered on your face, having lost to someone you had claimed was lesser than dirt. Guess what though?"
Pausing, he begins to comment in a sarcastic, teasing tone.
"It's going to happen again."
Chuckling, he returns to his usual tone of speaking, extending his arms out.
"It's destined to. You're making the same mistake you did last time we did battle. To you, this is just another match. Another battle to fight before you move on to what you view as greater tasks. A means to an end so to speak. Yet this isn't that. This is a battle with not just me, but with yourself. Challenging even your most arduent of beliefs. I can sense them. I can sense your struggle with having to confront that maybe you aren't as supreme as you believe. Or that maybe portraying yourself as this anti-christ has painted you into such a corner that you don't know how to fight out of it."
His expression becomes more focused. Steely as he simply looks ahead. Hoping that Hunter hears loud and clear what he is about to tell him.
"That is what beat you last time, Hunter. It wasn't anything I did - oh no. I went into that match knowing that you were the greatest asset I had against you. I knew full well that you were gonna come out and try to uphold X-Kore and that your ego was gonna treat your victory as a fait accompli. I knew you were going to play up how much you could hurt me, without needing to end the match and I used that against you.
See, I wanted you to batter me. I wanted you to unleash as much hell as you desired, because it was all about waiting for the right moment to strike. The moment when the cracks within your little glass house started to appear. It was then that I picked them apart and revealed them to the world, whilst laying you to rest."
Placing his hands back by his side, he scans around the garden.
"Only this time, it will be in the mecca itself. The fabled Madison Square Garden. A place where I know that the blow to your ego. The realisation that you had allowed yourself to be beaten once more will strike even harder. The lights will shine brighter as you stare into them. Your own missteps and failure etched into their minds. Last time, it was simply about the grander statement.
This time - it is about you. It is about deconstructing the aura you claim to process and showing that deep down inside - you are nothing more than a shell. A husk who wishes he could be the man he once wa s. That he could be the spectre that stood over the industry, unrivalled atop his throne."
He sticks out his tongue, before returning to his cold expression.
"A throne I plan on stripping away. Piece by piece, until you understand. Until you truly see that this was all by your own design. I'm not the one who's going to beat you Hunter. In that regard, I am just a vessal. You are going to do that part for me."
He then walks out of the garden.
"Showcase is where it's all gonna play out. Just as it did 2 years ago."
END.
