Cassie had done it! She had scored the upset win in her debut match against Lisa Marie Ashton! However, the youngster didn’t get much of a chance to celebrate that win as Lisa attacked her after the bell and was only saved by the timely arrival of Lisa’s tag team partner Adrennalynn! What that meant for those two women was out of Cassie’s hands at the moment because the youngster had other things on her mind.
Not only has Cassie signed a contract with PWE Conquest but Cassie wouldn’t have to wait long for her second match to be announced as she was taking on Layla Lionheart! Otherwise known as “The Greek Born Lioness” Lionheart had a significant height and weight advantage over the young and inexperienced Cassie but Cassie was riding a high from her debut match, can she continue that momentum and get the win?

One thing I learned tonight: fantasy rarely matches up with reality.
Ever since I started my wrestling training at the PTA Gym (and later restarted it at Hero Academy) I had been building this moment up in my head, the moment when I not only wrestled in my first ever match but got the win! It was in a large stadium as well and my cousin Krystal was in the front row cheering me on.
That was my fantasy, but the reality of the situation bit me hard.
My opponent got cocky because she was fighting a rookie and was a former champion, I had seen it happen many times in my time as a wrestling fan, so it was surreal to experience it in real time! Lisa screwed up and I got the win but said win was overshadowed by Lisa attacking me after the bell! Luckily Lisa’s tag team partner ran out to prevent Lisa from doing any serious damage (though I don’t doubt for a second that Krystal would’ve jumped the barricade to come to my aid) and whilst I don’t know the whole story there, I can at least say that I won my first ever match!
Unfortunately, my mom got worried and I had to let security let her come to my aid backstage, otherwise? She wouldn’t have let me hear the end of it!
“How can such a lovely young woman be such a brute?!” My mom exclaimed as the medical staff looked me over one last time, luckily, I had no lasting damage from Lisa’s post-match attack but that didn’t stop mom from worrying herself half to death. “How you and Krystal can handle yourselves so well in this business I’ll never know!”
”Mom, that’s just the nature of me competing in a contact sport!” I sighed as I ran a hand down my face, and I spotted Becky chuckling to herself in the background. ”Besides, the medic has given me a clean bill of health!”
”Cassie knew what she was getting into when she started her training.” Becky added, and we glanced up at my girlfriend. ”If she was intimidated by the nature of the business, I don’t think we would be having this conversation.”
“I suppose your right but as her mother I can’t help but be concerned.” My mom responded as I flipped some hair over my shoulder, at this point we were just waiting for the medic to discharge me. “And I haven’t shown your fellow wrestlers your baby pictures!”
Oh, for the love of metal, NO! ”Mom, it was bad enough when you showed the other girls in my soccer team my baby pictures! No one on either the OPW or PWE: Conquest rosters wants to see my baby pictures!” Did I really just say that to my mom? Well, at least things can’t get any…….
Oh, right, I didn’t tell her that I had signed up with another company, shit! “What’s this about PWE: Conquest?!”
”I didn’t think I could spread my wings as far as I could by staying in one fed at a time so I joined up with another fed.” I explained before letting out a deep breath because I just knew this next part was going to freak her the fuck out! ”And my first match for that promotion will be against a guy, another Australian wrestler called Aiden Reynolds in what’s being billed as a Battle for the Outback.”
I braced myself for what was coming next, it wasn’t unusual for women’s wrestlers to take on guys, hell SCW was the only fed I could think off that still kept the women’s and men’s divisions separate, but mom didn’t know that because she only really watched SCW. “THEY DID WHAT?!” Mom demanded and I winced knowing that she was about to enter overprotective mom mode. “THEY ARE NOT PUTTING MY BABY GIRL AGAINST A FULL-GROWN MAN!”
”Mom, I’m nineteen, I’m not a kid anymore!” I responded with an annoyed sigh but that appeared to do little to calm her down. ”He’s been doing this a lot longer than me so I can learn a lot from that match!”
“I don’t care if he’s been wrestling since the stone age, I’m not letting him manhandle my little princess!” You ever wondered where I came up with my Rebel Princess name? well, there you go! Mom always refereed to me as her little princess but as I entered my teenage years, I started to become a rebel off sorts, combine that with the fact that my cousin is also a wrestler and it fit! Mom seemingly realized that she wasn’t going to win that argument and she calmed down! “Whereabouts in Australia is this Aiden from?”
”He’s from Queensland, his bio didn’t state where in Queensland he’s from but he’s not from the same state as us at least.” I explained and mom nodded in response, it wasn’t long after that that I got given the go ahead to leave the medic’s office and mom left to get the car ready. ”It’s going to be like this every time I get in the ring for a match, isn’t its Becky?”
”Or at least until you get your driver’s license.” Becky sighed as she walked up to me and we shared a quick kiss. ”I spoke to my dad, he’s willing to take us to the next OPW show and your PWE Debut so you’ll at least get a break from her.”
”Anything that gets me to wrestling shows until I get my license is fine by me.” I sighed as I brushed some hair over my shoulder. ”Why didn’t I get a driver’s license whilst I was still in training? Taking the bus made me late for my training days more often than not! And getting that license would’ve meant not putting up with mom!”
”Live and learn I guess.” Becky responded with a shrug before I stood up ready to head out. ”Though I think your mom would still insist on driving you out of state after you get your license.”
”Please don’t jinx that!” I responded before we left the medic’s office in the direction of the parking lot.

Things have been relatively quiet since my debut.
Krystal few back to India for the rest of the tour and aside from a video chat about certain events on Climax Control I hadn’t really heard from her and I’ve been too busy with my personal life to really keep up with most of everything that was happening in that fed, but I at least knew that my second OPW Match was right around the corner.
Well that and the PWE Conquest debut.
My second OPW Match will be against the Greek Born Lioness Lylah Lionheart, as the name suggested she was an American wrestler of Greek descent and considering that description also described one of Krystal’s best friends and that she’s married to a Greek Woman I had a rough idea of what to expect.
Namely a fury temper, so yeah, this was probably going to be fun, but not as fun as trying to figure out what exactly was going wrong with my computer.
”Come on baby, talk to me!” I grumbled under my breath as I tried to put my computer degree to good use and troubleshoot what exactly was going wrong with my computer, any other time I would’ve called on Krystal’s help as she was better at tech than me but it was like I said, she was in India and I was in the states. ”I spent a good chunk of the windfall I got from Jenny Tuck and the Matthew Kennedy lawsuit on this gaming pc and it’s upgrades why is the curser behaving like this?!”
It was difficult to describe what was going wrong with the computer exactly, occasionally the mouse curser would glitch out and the keyboard’s enter key would take on a mind of its own, I don’t think I need to say why that was a bad thing when I was trying to play Total War: Rome II and whilst Becky wasn’t as well versed in tech as me or Krystal but she was trying her best to figure it out herself as she stood behind me. ”You’ve tried troubleshooting the Bluetooth stuff and everything in between, maybe you should take your mom’s advice and do a system reset?”
”And start from scratch, losing all my progress and save data in the process? Babe, I love you but that’s the nuclear option for a reason!” I responded with an annoyed sigh as the curser seemed to finally calm down (for lack of better term). ”Okay, maybe now I can focus on conquering Hispania and moving into Gaul?”
”A couple of decades before Julius Caesar did it in real life but then again you did skip to the third Punic War when dealing with Carthage.” Becky responded wit a shrug and I grinned in response before using my mouse to order my units around, but it was when I went to end the turn by hitting the Enter key that I realized why it was acting that way. ”It’s not responding?”
”Seems that way.” I responded with a frustrated grunt as I tried to end the turn several times to no avail, I tried several other commands like using the ESC key to exit out of the game but that didn’t work either. ”Did my keyboard just die on me?!” I realized as I stared at the keyboard in bewilderment, I wasn’t even aware that keyboards could die on you but here we are. ”I’ve had this thing since March, how is it dead already?!”
”Faulty manufacturing at a guess.” Becky could only shrug in response and I sighed as I used the power button on the tower to do a hard reset, luckily I knew how to use the virtual keyboard so it wasn’t a total loss, but I was going to have to go out and buy a new one before long. ”Where did you get that computer and the other stuff?”
”An independent online realtor, they had good reviews so I went with them over something like Amazon, will probably be worth contacting them about a refund or replacement for the keyboard.” I sighed as I waited for the PC to boot up, honestly I was just relieved that I didn’t have to resort to the nuclear option of a system reset. ”That campaign was going so well too! I had gotten Rome to the point where the only factions who would declare war on me were ones that woke up one day and said “you know what? I don’t feel like being an independent faction anymore!”, the ones who didn’t offer themselves up to be a client state at least.”
”I’m telling you Cass! You’d save yourself a lot of headaches by just doing a “this is total war” campaign but you said you didn’t like backseat gamers!” Becky responded as I used the virtual keyboard to log into my computer using my PIN and I shook my head. In response. ”Speaking off, will Virtual Keyboard even work with a game like Total War Rome II?”
”I doubt it, the game came out when I was ten years old, Krystal said that the virtual keyboard wasn’t even a thing back then!” I responded as I shook my head and Becky nodded as she got the idea. ”For the sake of speed I think our best bet will be to go out and buy a new one, luckily I just got my first pay check from OPW!”
”Not like a decent keyboard costs that much anyway!” Becky responded with a shrug and I nodded in agreement, before long we had headed out to do just that after telling mom what had happened.
Sure, she had to try it for herself to confirm what I was saying (and to be fair, since when did keyboards start dying?!) but she was happy to drive us out when she confirmed what we already knew.

*promo time*
After a bit of training at Hero Academy I decided to get my promo done in the parking lot, because why not?
”Once upon a time there was a rebel princess who won her first match and got attacked by a sore loser after the bell, so yeah, I wish that had gone better but besides that? That’s all I’m going to say about my first ever match aside from the fact that I wish Lisa Marie Ashton an eternity of walking on Legos and D4 dice! But if there’s one thing I learned whilst I was training in the building behind me, the only thing that matters about setbacks is how you pick yourself up after the fact and I’m sure my big moment of winning my debut match counts as a setback so I’ll be looking to do that at Saturday Night Showcase when I take on the Greek-Born Lioness Lylah Lionheart in singles action!”
This will be fun.
”Now, one of the first friends I made in wrestling was a Greek-American wrestler called Ariana Angelos and my older cousin Krystal is married to a Greek woman called Makayla so I think I have an idea of what I’m getting myself into when I step into the ring with you Lylah because if you’re as fiery and passionate as Ariana or Makayla then I think I’m in for a fun time, or I’m in for a match where I’m being slammed through the matt repeatedly because I’m a petite, high flying girl going up against a woman who’s taller and definitely has a power advantage over me, yeah I’m facing an uphill battle in this match!”
What can I do?
”I know the wise thing would be for me to use my speed to make sure that Lylah can’t catch me which is all well and good until I slip up because let’s face it, I’ve only JUST graduated from wrestling school! Ugh, this is even worse than my first promo, I’m listing all the reasons why Lylah should be stuffing me into a locker at the end of the night! Screw it, my speed and agility hasn’t done me wrong so far and that will be my key to victory!”
And hopefully the pay window.
”So Lylah, are you ready to be the second established OPW star to be humiliated by a complete rookie in a row? Because that’s what’s in store for you when we meet at Saturday Night Showcase as I continue to show the wrestling world exactly what I can do in the ring! Just do me a favour and don’t attack me after the bell? Please? I’d like a chance to celebrate a win some time, you know?”
It’s that simple.
”I know I’m the underdog heading into this match, hell I’ll probably be the underdog heading into all of my matches over the next few months but against someone as big and powerful as Lylah? I have my work cut out for me for sure and I can only hope that in this fight between a lioness and a wolf, it’ll be the wolf who comes out on top!”
And with that I decided to wrap things up.
”In case my debut match didn’t give it away, I’m not your average fairy tale princess, I’m a rebel princess and I’m out to make my mark in wrestling! Sure, Lisa ruined my moment after the bell rung and I won the match by way of ringing my bell but I’m hoping that this match against Lylah will be the complete opposite of that! Once again, this is the “Rebel Princess” Cassie Wolfe and at Saturday Night Showcase I’ll be out to show Lylah why I’m Hungry Like the Wolfe!”
I got in the car to be driven home by Becky’s dad as the scene fades.
Not only has Cassie signed a contract with PWE Conquest but Cassie wouldn’t have to wait long for her second match to be announced as she was taking on Layla Lionheart!
