Well, anywhere I go it's you, I'm not done with you
Tell me what you wanna do, never been afraid of you
Just because you walk around, everyone you're talking down
Don't you even make a sound, I will drop you to the ground
A hearty handshake, a smile, and a knife, the three things needed to get yourself to the top in any business. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that Johnny and I are...well we are at odds once again. We came together for a moment, enter the hearty handshake and smile, the first two things you need to succeed, and now it’s time for the knife. That’s the part of business that most people can’t handle, the part that they just don’t understand. You have to be willing to take that knife and drive it straight into the back of your competition. There is no one better at doing just that then Johnny Stylez.
There’s a saying about a snake in the grass or some shit, but Johnny isn’t a snake in the grass, no he’s a Brutus, a Benedict, and Judas. Think I am being harsh? There is only one thing in this world that Johnny Stylez cares about, HIMSELF! Don’t believe me? Just look around on the OPW, who has had more screen time in the organization? Yep, you can thank me later for that realization, and when I rectify that problem you can thank me again. Buying part of this company gave me two things to work with, one burying Johnny in his own backyard, something I have done my entire career, and well to show the world that wrestling can reach a pinnacle that it has never achieved.
What does all of this have to do with OPW this week? As you might guess, Johnny can’t find the kind of family that I have found, so he has to try and create his own. But he doesn’t do this through mutual respect, no, he does it through fear and pain. Because in his sick twisted mind he somehow thinks that is how family works. He operates under a system of shameless self promotion and a side toss of scraps to keep the weaker people around him happy, and yes I am referring to Blair and Tyler.
Put your hands down, this isn't a question and answer time, I will address the Blair and Tyler comments in a moment, so unbunch the panties and relax a moment. For the moment we are talking about Johnny and his terrible poor life choices that always end in the same situation. Well almost always, there was that one time that I fell for all the bullshit that he spewed and I thought to myself, ‘hey this is a great idea’, hard fail there, worst year of my wrestling career ensued. Beyond that one moment though, Johnny and Roger have held a rather familiar ring when the matches really matter, ROGER WINS!!!!
Why might that matter you ask? Well because we are about to climb into the ring in a few days here in my hometown, and well, the stakes are high so we all know what the outcome will be. It’s simple to understand though, while Johnny is spending hours trying to come up with clever verbal takedowns, I am spending my time coming up with ways to beat him in the ring, and now I spend the time figuring out ways to be the better owner. But that is what separates the greats from the very goods Johnny, dedication to the craft and making the right decisions.
Hey you, better watch with the stare
I see you coming undone
Come on, come on, come on and get some
Which brings us to the arm candy that he trapes around with. Blair I would love to sit here and tell you that I hate you, but the sad truth is that just isn’t reality. You gave me Marie, and for that I am going to forever be grateful. Make no mistake you won’t be coming over to see her anytime soon, but I think you will be ok with that. Something about making the beds we lay in or some shit, you get it though.
However I am saddened that YOU! Of all people have allowed someone like Johnny to get into your head. What happened to the woman that refused to be second fiddle, the woman that couldn’t stand to be in my shadow, the woman that wanted it to be Blair and Roger, and not the other way around? Oh shit she’s with Johnny, and well, she’s playing second fiddle to him. I guess maybe life is hard when you really don’t know what you want.
Don’t worry though, I...oh yeah that’s right, I moved on, there won’t be any coming back to what you thought you could count on. Sucks, but hey even I can realize when i am the security blanket and move on. Like I said though, it’s not all bad, I took Marie with me, and well she gets to live the life that you always wanted growing up, so that should make you feel good when you are looking back on your life, you made one good decision. SO KUDOS TO YOU!!!
Well, I will intimidate to the point that I'm frustrate
Never seen this side of me, let the anger out of me
Just because I've been reserved, many things you've never heard
Doesn't mean I'm not aware, if you push, I'll take you there
And Tyler...where does one even start with you? Who the fuck are you? I mean that sincerely, don’t be offended because deep down inside you know why I am asking, even if no one else seems to get it. Did I cost you the Youngblood title? HELL YES I DID!!! Are you going to cry about it? PROBABLY!!! It’s ok though Tyler, I have a full proof method for getting over it, walk the fuck away, you are messing with things you don’t understand and fighting a battle that you couldn’t win if I was missing both my arms and legs.
Reality is a mother fucker, we all know it, and when I am done with you Tyler the world will know the full truth about the man you are, and not the lie you have been feeding them week in and week out. Because that is what I do, I don’t just want to get into the ring and beat you, know I want to make sure that you feel the sting of a loss to me forever, I want you to realize the mistake you made, and understand that there is nothing you could have done, nothing that you could do, and nothing that will change the simple fact that you were outclassed.
So with that, I want to thank all of you for coming out to Weberville to partake in this great display of wrestling that you will be getting to watch in just a few short days.
Roger stepped back from the podium and watched as the hands shot up, the media in attendance clearly thinking that there was going to be a question and answer portion of the press conference. “That was great.” Shane said as he came up behind Roger, both men striding away from the podium, questions were flung from the crowd of media members in attendance.
“Amazing how something was great, when all it was, was the truth. That’s the sad state of affairs that we are living in now Shane.” Roger shook his head, both men walking side by side.
“Agreed.” Shane seemed to think about biting his tongue, but decided not to and instead as the question on his mind. “So are you sure about this thing with Anicka and the Pack?”
Roger came to a stop, pulled a short breath in and turned to Shane who had stopped as well. “Extremely sure.” And that was it, nothing else needed to be said, Shane understood and both men walked to the main house in silence.
THAT NIGHT
Roger and Anicka sat on the back porch, Marie in Anicka’s lap the two reading a book, Roger scrolling through his phone. There was something serene about watching the way Anicka and Marie interacted. For Roger it always brought a smile to his face, but more importantly it brought a smile to Marie’s face.
Standing up, Roger moved for the house, Anicka gave him a look, he pointed at the empty beer and she just nodded. Inside he found Shane in the kitchen, both arms on the counter standing in front of the fridge. “Making a late night call huh, got some news?” Roger asked smile on his face.
“I have my concerns.” Shane said as he grabbed two beers and handed one to Roger.
“I am sure you do, you have had them since the beginning.” Roger twisted the top and took a long swig.
“It’s not just your plans, it’s this whole match, the OPW thing, all of it Roger.” Shane took a swig of his beer and wiped his lips with the back of his hand. “You are becoming impulsive, making big decisions and not thinking about them as much as you used to. It’s concerning to say the least.”
“Which is why I will be leaving the decisions regarding the ranch, the business and everything other than OPW to you Shane.” Roger took a swig of the bottle. “In fact, I had these drawn up the other day.” Roger pulled open a drawer at the end of the counter and removed a brown envelope, then tossed it to Shane.
Nearly dropping his beer, Shane managed to catch the envelope and set the beer down, pulling it open to read it. “Wait, is this for real?”
“Yep, you are 49% share holder in Roger Wright Inc.” Roger tipped his beer to Shane and smiled as the man just stood there dumbfounded. “Least I can do for you, after all you have done for me.” Roger tipped his beer up and finished it off.
“I…”
“Get some sleep Shane, big day starts for you tomorrow.” Roger laughed, snatched another beer from the fridge and returned to the patio, to one of those moments in time he wished would never end. Since Anicka had arrived there had been many of those moments, and Roger knew they wouldn’t ever stop happening.
