The weather seemed almost perfect in Allentown. Nice in cool with a slight breeze that blew across the Fair Grounds. Carter Alpha stood silently examining the spot of his debut, not impressed with the venue but he knew it was a small price to pay for his goals. Standing next to Alpha was a giant of a man standing just under 7 foot tall the dark skinned golaith memiced Alpha's gaze. His bald head gleaming from the unblocked sun. He put his trashcan lid like hand on the shoulder of Alpha in a sign of comfort knowing what was going on in his mind.
Alpha: "You already know what I'm thinking don't you Kongo?"
Kongo; Carter's oldest and only friend and probably the only person he respected smiled softly before taking a few step forward. He begins to address Alpha his voice deep and smooth with a rich afriacan accent.
Kongo: "I wouldn't be a good friend if I didn't and after 20 years I like to think I know you like the back of my hand. However as your teacher I can't help but feel a little disapointed. So many years of trying to break you of that ego of yours but to no avail. I hate to admit it but I'm starting to think you will never change."
Alpha hated hearing the word disappointment coming from Kongo's mouth but he hid the pain keeping his look of disgust for the area. He follows behind Kongo closely keeping up with the strides of his long legs. It might be a dissapointment but his feeling of superiorty was just and valid but he would never say this to his friend. Instead he kept the conversation going in a positive note.
Alpha: "To be so much older and wiser you have yet to figure out leapords cannot change their spots. I don't see why you are so worried about changing me so much when it's gotten me so far ahead in life."
Kongo stops in his tracks and lets out a loud booming laugh. Turning to look at Carter with a giant smile on his face he shakes his head.
Kongo: "You are no damn leapord. In fact I'm pretty sure you've never seen one that wasn't on a screen. You want to know about leapords? I'll tell you about leapords. They might be amazing hunter with fangs and claws that can tear flesh with ease but they don't do it for fun or to prove they are the best. They do it to survive. You on the other hand hunt for the prize and glory which is ok I guess."
Alpha: "You guess? What other meaning could life have besides being the best abd dominating everyone? The feeling it gives you to break someones mind and spirit is one that is pure exticy. That feeling can only be the meaning of life that and leaving a legacy nobody can come close to."
Alpha notices Kongo shaking his head again but he could tell there was no smile this time. He had always wondered how the two of them could be so close but be so different. Even though their views were so mismatched they never onced had a true fight. Alpha truly respectedd this man.
Kongo: "So tell me about your debut match?"
A change of subject? Kongo never was the type of person to avoid anything like that but Carter was more then pleased.
Alpha: "It seems that OPW wants to see this dominance you hate so much. They put me up against two of the biggest clowns I've ever seen in my life. Keven something and Lizardboy maybe. It doesnt really matter though their fates were sealed when that card came out. This could be the end of their careers depending on how im feeling but one thing for sure, they will fall."
Alpha could feel his excitement rising his blood rushing. He couldn't wait to step in that ring and show his spots. Knowing the outcome. He was so focused on whats to come he didnt notice the big fist coming at him till it made contact with his jaw. The pain was unreal as he tumbled backwards landing on his ass his head in a daze. It took him a moment to realise that Kongo had just hit him. If it had been anybody else there would have been a fight but instead Alpha used the sleeve of his jacket to wipe away the small trickle of blood running from his mouth. He stood up and staired at his friend his eyes feeled with confusion.
Kongo: "You are so arrogant. In my mind there is no doubt you will win but my worry is at what cost. I've seen that ego of yours break bones just because you wanted to make a statement. I can't understand why you can't see that it is so much more then that. How long before you push it over the limit and do something so unforgivable your career is ruined. Yes your job is to hurt your opponent but not the way you do."
Without another word Kongo turns and walks away leaving Carter alone with his thoughts. Carter had alway been deadset in his ways and this changed nothing he was gonna make sure to show Kongo that his way was the only way even if he did step over the line he was gonna prove he is the true Alpha.
Alpha: "I'm sorry my old friend."
With that Alpha turns and walks away in the opposite direction.
