Eddie is standing at the large window of his hotel room. Looking at the New York streets below. While he is looking down at the traffic moving around the city, like ants on the floor of a jungle.
"Finally, the Club is in a better place than it had been since they arrived on American soil. Bobby has his guys tracking down the last of the clowns. Cole has finally got the rest of the club settled on a campsite, working on getting some funding for the club. Cade as always has been by side, through thick and thin. Always there to cover my back when needed."
Eddie takes a moment to swap his arms over, resting his head on to the other arm.
"This next stage, however, I will need to navigate on my own. After so long, I have finally found my self as a champion once again in OPW. This time, I have finally managed to retain my Championship. When I won the Youngblood championship from Chamber, the biggest upset in the company's history. I was booked to defend the title at the next show, I walked into the WrestleCade, the first PPV for the company. However after a brutal four-way ladder match, and outside inference. I was dethroned as the champion. It took me ages to climb back into the title picture, after all the trouble with Insurgence. I finally managed to put an end to this chapter. Defeating Christian Rivers in a First Blood match."
Taking a moment to stretch his arms out, Eddie starts to look out across the city line.
"Bearly had any time after that match to recover, instantly I was locked into a best of five series with Gabriel Tuck. Well as everyone knows, that series only lasted three matches. When I was awarded the title after a brutal submission match. The series was cut short after Tuck was arrested for his part in the fire at the Wright farm and the death of a woman."
Eddie finally heads over towards the large leather sofa. He sits down and reaches over to a small table and picks up a small round glass of Scottish whisky staring in to the bottom of the glass.
"As much as I was happy to once again be a champion, I didn't feel that I had truly won the title. At the last show, I retained the championship in my first title defence against my old Rival Eion O'Rourke. Now I am now booked to face the new number, one contender. The self-proclaimed "uncrowded Prestige champion" Jason Ryan. That is a bold statement since I haven't seen much from him so far. I believe that he has only had a hand full of matches so far. Been moderate success so far."
Pouring himself another drink, he is still sitting on the leather sofa
"To make this match more interesting, this will be a thirty-minute Iron man match. His history in the business is pretty much unknown to me until his debut in the OPW. So an Iron man match this will be a first for me, throughout my career I have wrestled a lot of different matches, whether it was hardcore rules, an item on a pole, a variation of a ladder match, an Inferno match, Scaffold match, last man standing, multiple cage type matches. Even wrestled a best of three falls, and more recently best of series. Even first blood and submission matches."
Eddie finally knocks back the glass, downing the whole contents. Before reaching over to the bottle, pouring himself another drink.
"An Iron man match I guess is the next evolution. In some ways, it could be classed as my biggest match here in OPW, one of the toughest matches in my career, possible on par with the time that I had to run the Gauntlet against five different opponents in one night.
So, Jason, you like to run around and proclaim yourself as the "Uncrowned Prestige champion". Well to finally become the Prestige champion, you will have to beat me in the thirty man Iron man match, trust me that won't be an easy task. I have worked so hard to claim this title, I can assure you that I won't be letting this title leave my grasp, without the fight of my life. You see, this title symbolizes all the struggles and hard work that I had to undergo to get to this point in my career. Jason if you are expecting this match to be a walk in the park, especially after all of the brutal matches that I have undergone in the previous months. Then you are sadly mistaken. You come in with that frame of mind, then you might as well enter the ring and just lay down for the thirty minutes. I will do everything it takes to walk out of the arena after the thirty minutes, still Prestige champion. Then I will be officially hand the title back, to take much need time of to recover. Possible in my absence the division will grow and finally provide me with a challenge upon my return."
Finally Eddie stands up, bottle in one hand and the small glass in the other. He heads towards the next room, kicking the door closed behind him.
