June 23, 2020, 11:07pm - In the middle of W59th Street; In front of Le’Andra Building
Twenty minutes after Xavier and Anicka’s Match and the Syndicate, with their newest and brightest member, was making their way across the street where they would party the night away. Everyone but Anicka was smiling and laughing; she, on the other hand, looked like you had run over her dog and cat. The joyous occasion was cut short as two very unmistakeable voices cut through the air. OpW Co-Owner, Roger Wright and the Femme Fatale herself, VooDoo, exited to the park and called Anicka’s name at the same time causing everyone in the little party to stop and turn around. Xavier motioned for everyone else to continue and he took a few steps back to where Anicka stood; Le’Andra held her ground and just in case.
Ani, you don’t have to stay here with them. VooDoo told her. You didn’t turn against the Pack. Your home is STILL there.
Le’Andra stood there and listened as the four of them argued back and forth. VooDoo assuring Ani that she had done nothing wrong and could still live at the Compound. Johnny telling Roger that a contract is a contract and business was business. Xavier telling Roger that he will make sure to take good care of Anicka while she’s in the Syndicate; she knew the sly smirk on X’s face was just to make Roger angry; especially given X and Ani’s past. But in the end, it was Ani who said that it didn’t feel right with her returning to the compound, not as long as she was under Syndicate’s banner. The thing that hit Le’Andra the most, was when Roger asked Ani just what he was going to tell Marie; all Ani did was tell him to tell her that she was away with work, before she turned around and walked away from the group, making sure to check Stylez hard with her shoulder as she passed by.
I am getting the feeling Ms Ani’s upset. Stylez rubbed his shoulder with a smile.
We’re all fucking upset. VooDoo damned neared roared.
I’m not upset. Are you upset, X? Johnny smirked.
I’m not upset. Xavier answered. But I know you all are, so I am going to walk away. My colleagues and I have a party to attend.
Xavier backed away from Roger and his sister in law a few steps before he turned around and joined Le’ and Johnny and continued the rest of the way across the street and into the lobby of Southmoor House, the building where Le’Andra lived. Inside, Chan was trying to round up everyone and keep them in a semi quiet bunch; but that was impossible.
Oh thank God, Le’. Chan immediately walked over; the sound of exasperation in his voice. I’m going to need a couple xanax before this night is over. What will the neighbors think?
They will think they missed a great party. X laughed, he looked passed Chan to Anicka as she stood by the lobby’s window, staring out at the street where she had last seen Roger and VooDoo. Why don’t you go get our new house guest and hustle her upstairs?
Chan looked at Xavier and then looked over his shoulder at Anicka. You have GOT to be joking? He turned back to X and Le’ and saw that they were not joking. Nope. He shook his head. I will admit-- He motioned to all the Syndicate members. I am scared of them all. He thumbed his finger over his shoulder. But that woman terrifies me.
As it should. Xavier looked over at Ani; wrestlers can say what they want to say about her and not being scared to face her, but the truth was deep down inside, they did. We all do.
Why don’t you all go on up? Le’ suggested. Maybe Ani needs a woman’s touch?
This caused Xavier to smirk a little bit. Oh yeah? A woman’s touch? Maybe I should stick around, might be something I’d like to watch?
Le’ made an “ew” face and shook her head with a smile as she waved him off. X chuckled and wrapped his arm around Chan’s shoulder and started for the elevators. Le’ turned and faced where Ani stood and crossed her arms over her chest as she thought. She has heard enough and seen enough that if things came to blows, she and Ani would destroy this lobby, using each other to do so; cops would be called, arrests would be made and there was a good chance Le’ would have to move. She knew Ani was feeling a lot of things right now; if she was in her shoes, she would be feeling the same thing. Le’ walked over to where Ani stood and stopped by her side.
Anicka? Why don’t we go on up to my apartment? She used a soothing voice. I will show you to the room we have made up for you. Anicka turned her head slightly and looked Le’Andra in the eyes. Had her breeding not been quite what it was, Le’Andra would have been taken aback with it; maybe even flinched and a little scared of it, as most people should when someone looks at them as if she was imagining peeling their skin from their body. Flaying was a method of torture that Le’s ancestors had used, long before they became civilized. I will have Chan bring you something to eat and drink. I imagine you want to be alone right now.
Anicka said nothing as she turned around and walked to the elevators and pressed the button. Le’’s made it there just as the doors opened and both the women stepped inside and Le’ pressed the button for her floor.
Why? Why did you do that to Ani? To Roger? The sound of her voice, it’s tone, made Le’ a little sad.
But not too sad. It was just a way to make sure that the Syndicate walked away with that gold.
What? The smirk that formed on her lip almost turned into a snarl. Scared that your husband would lose?
That’s always an option in any match. Especially against you. Le’ smiled. All I did was take that option out.
What happened to all that clan honor bullshit that Ani’s heard about “your” people?
Ani, dear-- Le’Andra chuckled a little. --my Clan were Viking Pirates, not sure honor was in their forte.
The elevator doors opened and the two women stepped out, the front door was opened and music thumping out. When they entered the apartment, Xavier was telling Chan to calm down that everything would be okay; Le’ half chuckled, Chan looked like he was about to have a brain aneurysm.
Chan! Le’ called out over the music. He looked her way and immediately headed over. He opened his mouth, but before he could complain about the circumstance she held up her hand silencing him. Make Anicka something to eat and drink and bring it to her room.
Ani’s not hungry.
Le’Andra ignored Anicka’s words; she was trying to be a good host. Make Ani one of your snack trays. You know, the ones that you make me when you ask me what I want to eat and I say I am not hungry. Chan nodded and without a word went to the kitchen. Chan’s room is just off the kitchen if you need him. Plus there is an intercom in all the rooms that goes straight to his room. She looked into the living room area where the party was happening. I’ll give you a tour tomorrow. I am sure you don’t want to be around all that negative energy right now. If you will follow me, I will show you to your room.
Xavier watched as his wife led Anicka up the stairs; his heart swelled a little for those two. Xavier had been with many women in his life, but those two were the only ones he let close to his heart; one he let get away and one he did not.
At the top of the stairs, Le’ opened the first door to the left and turned on the light. She called it the Red Room. The walls were covered in red silk with the ceiling painted red; the carpet was red and black that your toes would sink in if you were barefoot. There was a king size bed with a black spread on top on the far wall; dresser, desk and chair and a TV. There was also a window seat with black cushions overlooking Central Park. Since ‘Avi knew your clothing size; we took the liberty to get you some clothes. We knew you’d be unprepared for this. Toiletries in the bathroom. She turned and faced Ani, a soft, kind smile on her face;one that she hoped made Anicka feel welcome, despite things that were going on. While you are here, I want you to know that my house is your house and I don’t want you to feel like you have to stay cooped up in the bedroom like a prisoner. Well, except tonight, but I don’t think that will bother you one bit.
Chan walks in carrying a tray; cut up fresh fruit, meat, cheese and crackers. There was a chocolate protein shake that looked like a milkshake, an insulated pitcher full of ice water and a glass. He placed it on the desk. He turned around and faced the two women; placing his hands in each other, he smiled at Anicka. Please feel free to call for me, Ms Swan, if you need anything. He pointed to the intercom on the wall beside the bed, he decided that it might be best to throw on his charm; maybe it would win Anicka over as it had Le’Andra. There’s a notepad on the kitchen counter if there is anything that you need. Or if you wish something in particular for dinner; I am a pretty good cook. If you will excuse me ladies, I am going to gather up the breakables downstairs and move them into my room for the night.
This caused Le’Andra to chuckle and even Ani to crack a little smile.
We’re all going to work together to make your stay as painless as possible.
Le’Andra turned around and made her way out of the room and closed the door behind her. She stood there for a moment, she finally shook her head and smiled; she really hoped that her husband knew what he was doing. She bound down the stairs; she had some partying to catch up on.
June 26, 2020, 10:00am - Xavier Wolf’s Love Shack
When Le’Andra Fury woke up, she became aware of two things; one, there was fresh coffee brewing; and two, she was alone. She rolled over in bed; a little slowly; Xavier had done some pillaging and plundering last night. She once again admired the ring on her finger, this one so much bigger and heavier than her first one and it was going to take a while to get used to wearing it. She finally sat up, despite it being just her and her Xavier there she kept all of her lady parts covered up.
She chuckled to herself as she thought about the first time that he asked her to come here; she had heard all about the cabin while the guys were talking their “stories” while training. Which was why when he asked her to spend the weekend with him there she had given him a scathing look of disgust that said she’d rather be flayed alive. He wasn’t used to being turned down and that was the first hook and what caused him to change his tactics; he started listening to her and watching her; he liked how she always held her head high. It was that breeding in her, her father used to tell X. And she remembers the exact moment her feelings changed for him. Her father and him were in the ring together; her father using X as a practice dummy and no matter what her father did to him or how bad it hurt him, he still got up; that called to what her mother called her warrior side.
Flawless.. Absolutely flawless. I am sure that there are still some hurt feelings going on. I can’t say there are hurt feelings all the way around, because I don’t think the Syndicate is hurt at all. She smiled and shook her head just slightly. And in light of things, I do think that the Wolfpack will be a little more dangerous, little more mad, even bitter with things. Which only means, we will have to be a little more careful. My husband has been gracious enough to fill me in on how they work; the side that every day people don’t get to see on TV and at the shows, but I’ve also paid plenty attention myself; with each and every one of them. Making my own judgements against them, about them. And how to address them.
She smiled slightly.
Kind of like my judgement on mine and Johnny’s opponents. You know, I sit and I listen to all the talk on the airways about Insurgence and the type of wrestlers that they are and week after week, I just don’t see it. Maybe the hosts of these shows are hoping that their words will give them encouragement? Maybe they are hoping that they will remember themselves as the wrestler that the hosts remember them as? She shrugs her shoulders slightly. I seriously, just-- don’t see it.
I mean, maybe Maddox changing his name will help him out? Maybe it will help him channel some inner being to bring to the ring and unleash it? Most wrestler’s claim to have an inner beast, some may even name it. Maybe that’s what Dredd will be for him? Maybe that’s what Dredd was for him in a different time during his career? Kind of like some people put on a mask and become a whole different person. I guess in a way, the name Fury is my mask. The mask I wear to escape the reality of what my life was living across the Atlantic Ocean and a way to make a name for myself, one not associated with the family name; one that would remind me of my wrestling roots. What is your mask hiding, Dredd? The man you were? The man you are? The man you want to be? Whatever it is, do be sure to bring it to the match. Make sure your partner does too.
Le’ gave a wink.
Again, I keep hearing all of this stuff about what a good wrestler you are, Enforcer. And I keep wondering each and every week where it is. All I have been seeing out of Insurgence is sure not what everyone keeps talking about. Have you let all the talk go to your head? It has been my experience that some wrestlers when people talk about how good they are, they tend to forget that they have to keep being good. They think they have made it, but what they fail to realize is that week in and week out you still have to keep being good. You can’t expect the fans to back you and what you do if you give some half ass attempt at making it look good. You can’t expect them to be happy when you come to the ring with some half ass wrestling, that wouldn’t even get you in a wrestling school. No, you have to come out here week after week, and give it 110% each and every time, because if you don’t, the fans will get bored with you and move on to something better. Is that what happened, Enforcer? Boredom set in? The repetitiveness of the way things are going for you in the OpW making it bland and dreary for you? Whatever it is that has you looking all lackluster in the ring, I hope you shake it off.
I hope you both do, because it will be the only way that you take these titles away from Johnny and I.
Just as Le’Andra was about to lay back down against the pillows, Xavier walked in pushing a silver serving cart. On the cart was a pot of fresh brewed coffee; waffles, not the thick belgium square ones that everyone knows about but the heart shaped ones. They were drizzled in chocolate syrup with a dollop of whipped cream and sliced strawberries on top. He poured and handed her a cup of coffee; no sugar, no cream, just the way she liked it. As she sipped on the coffee, he pulled a bamboo tray from the lower shelf and placed it on Le’s lap and then put the waffles on it.
You’re going to make someone a good husband one day. She teased him.
Can’t say the same for your career as a comedian. He teased back.
Touche’ She put the coffee down and reached over to the plate and carefully pulled one of the hearts away and took a bite. Oh, my God, ‘Avi. It’s just like the ones bestemor used to make.
I know right? He watched her take another bite. Not everyone in your family hates me. You think your granny would have approved?
Le’ choked a little bit as she laughed lightly. I think my grandmother would have beat you with her walking stick for calling her granny.
I’ve seen pictures of your granny, my knee caps would have been scared of her.
Le’ laughed once again, this time missing her mouth with the waffle causing a piece to break away from the piece in her hand and fall down the front of her leaving a trail of chocolate and whipped cream all the way down. Napkin, ‘Avi. She pointed to the napkins on the serving cart.
I’ve got this. Xavier pushed the tray on her lap across to his side of the bed, coffee spilling on the tray and bed.
Xavier Wolf. She exclaimed in shock; a touch of amusement in her voice. What are you doing?
Xavier slowly crawled up his wife, until she laid back against the pillows, he leaned down and kissed her, their tongues dancing softly with each other until he broke it. I’m getting ready to clean up my wife.
Xavier slowly began to kiss and lick his way down.
June 27, 2020, 11.22am - New York, NY, 230 Central Park S # PH16
When the limo pulled to a stop in front of the building, he got out and quickly ran around to the other side and opened the door; then went to the trunk to get their bags. Le’ looked around at the concrete as X slipped the driver some cash and picked up their bags. He watched her as she then stepped back from the building and looked up.
There’s no chalk outlines and looks like the apartment isn’t a burned out shell. She explained when she saw him watching.
As long as there isn’t a body to clean up when we get upstairs, I’d say it was a winning week.
They made their way inside and through the lobby, getting a wave from Chad at the front desk. Everything seemed to be normal when the doors opened and made their way to the door. What they didn’t expect was to hear Chan exclaim from the kitchen.
Oh my God, get the fuck outta here. Le’ and X looked at each other and made their way down the hall to the kitchen When they walked in, they found Chan and Anicka at the island stove and Ani was making scrambled eggs. Oh my God, Le’, I’ve been making scrambled eggs the wrong way, my whole damned life.
I could have told you that. X said as they walked further in the kitchen.
Have you two eaten breakfast yet? Anicka asked as she continued to stir the eggs.
We were going to see if you two wanted to go to the Ritz, but it looks like the Ritz is here in my kitchen.
I may be biased, but Ritz could use Ani in their kitchen.
Ani thinks you’re biased as hell. She told him; had she smiled when she said that you would have swore that nothing was wrong. She pulled a couple more plates from the cabinet.
They all watched as Anicka pulled some bread that she had toasting in the oven out and put a piece on each plate followed by eggs on top and then thin slices of smoked salmon, finishing with a Hollandaise sauce. Placing a couple of forks on the plate, she slid them on the counter to Le’ and X.
Thank you, Ani. Le’’ said as she picked up her fork and took a bite. X watched Le’s face with a smile as it took on an expression of shock. She turned to X. Oh my goodness, I could really get used to this.
Ani wouldn’t if she was you. Anicka picked up her plate and made her way down the hall and up the stairs to her gilded cage.
There’s that side I know and love. Xavier chuckled as he picked up his fork.
You really know how to pick them don’t you, Xavier? Chan said as he dug into his plate.
What the hell is that supposed to mean? Le’ asked as she looked back and forth between the two.
You know the old saying, Le’-- Chan smiled. --If you don’t fear them a little bit, they aren’t the one for you.
Xavier points over at Chan and nods with a smile. That man knows all about it.
Although Le' laughed with the both of them, she couldn’t help but think of his words; and she wanted to know more about Xavier and Anicka’s relationship, not just the one in the tabloids with all their exploits.
Oh, I have good news. Chan paused for a moment as he thought about it. I guess it depends on how you look at it really. Hmm. He thought for a moment. Well, the good news is, we’re not going to be evicted because of that party.
Good news means there is always “bad” news. Le’Andra braced herself. What’s the bad news?
Johnny Stylez now owns this building.
What? Le’Andra and Xavier both said at the same time.
Well, while you all were visiting-- Chan looked at X with a look that called him a pig. --the Love Shack. Le’ had told him all about it. There were complaints about everything that happened and they were going to evict us. So I called Johnny and showed him that I wasn’t as Tink as he thinks I am and told him he needed to fix this before you two came home.
Oh my Goodness, Chan, what have you done?
I saved us from being evicted because someone-- Again, Chan looked at Xavier. --Thought it would be fun to practice their putting.
It was more like my drives. Xavier raised his hand a little bit and gave a little off-shooting motion. You know, had to clear 59th Street to get it on that Central Park Green.
Chan, they can't evict us, I own the apartment.
Oh my God. Chan just realized Stylez now owns the building they lived in. What have I done?
