Michigan Labor Legacy Monument
Detroit, Michigan
A swarm of correspondents from various local media outlets crowded the small stage set up at the base of the Michigan Labor Legacy Monument where, in just a few minutes, the current OPW Southern Heavyweight Champion Blair Buchannan-Stylez would be addressing the press. At the direction of the new OPW Commissioner, Miss Michelle, Blair had basically been forced to make this appearance.
You see, as Southern Heavyweight Champion, Blair was contractually obligated to make a certain amount of public appearances on behalf of OPW per month...Unfortunately for Blair, all of those Restaurant Openings and commercial spots for Big Daddy’s Chicken didn’t count as OPW appearances. Needless to say she was in quite the deficit. The only reason Blair was able to get away with not doing these appearances for so long is because up until last week OPW was without a Commissioner competent enough to notice.
So after receiving a strongly worded e-mail from the commissioner informing Blair that she would be fined for all of her missed appearances in one lump sum unless she agreed to start fulfilling her contractual obligations, she decided to show up at a press conference being held under the large, metallic, circular monument where other lesser known OPW roster members were promoting the next episode of Monday Night Showcase.
Blair was unhappy for a few reasons. One: she did not like losing. Not even a little bit...and she wasn’t very gracious about it either. Two: She didn’t know who this Miss Michelle woman was, but Blair didn’t exactly like being forced to trot out and drum up publicity against her will. Sure, it was one thing when Blair pimped herself out for shameless self promotion...she loved getting all dolled up and never met a camera she didn’t like...but something about doing this press conference when it wasn’t her idea just hit differently.
So she waited off to the side while the other roster members answered questions from the press one by one until her name was called and it was her turn to take to the stage. With a microphone in hand, a sullen looking Blair stepped up onto the stage dressed in a black sheer cropped t-shirt that showed off her toned midsection and gave a glimpse of the shimmering diamond studded bikini top underneath, faded blue denim mini shorts that were folded open to reveal a hint of her matching diamond studded bikini bottoms, and a pair of black leather over the knee high heeled stiletto boots. Except for a few pieces left down to frame her face, her long dark hair was pulled up in a high ponytail with the length of it falling over one shoulder in beachy looking waves. Blair didn’t even bother to fake a smile as the crowd of reporters in attendance applaud upon her arrival. Instead, she just sucks her teeth and rolls her eyes before speaking into the microphone.
Blair Buchannan-Stylez: “First question.”
Reporter 1: “Blair, how are you feeling after your disappointing loss to Apathy last week?”
Blair Buchannan-Stylez: “I’m just here so I don’t get fined.” She said smugly.
Reporter 2: “What’s your mindset going into the mixed tag match with the other members of The Syndicate against Vincent and VooDoo Wolf as well as your ex boyfriend Roger Wright?”
Blair Buchannan-Stylez: “I’m just here so I don’t get fined.” She repeated as dryly as before.
Reporter 3: “Do you have anything to say about Sahara interfering last week which possibly could have cost you the match against Apathy?”
Blair Buchannan-Stylez: “I’m just here so I don’t get fined.”
Reporter 4: “What do you say to people like VooDoo who claimed you’ve gone overboard with the plastic surgery?”
Blair Buchannan-Stylez: “I’m just here so I don’t get fined. Thank you all for coming. See you at Monday Night Showcase!”
….and just as quickly as she had arrived, Blair had begun her exit and swiftly descended the stairs from the stage before heading off toward an awaiting SUV leaving the reporters both shook and confused.
